Orientation
The staff of First Adventure believes that it is not only the children that need to be comfortable with the programs we have to offer, but also the parents and families. We strive for childcare excellency and pride ourselves on being a leader in childcare issues in our community. Parents are required to come in and tour our facility and learn about our practices and principles before they decide to enrol their child here. We at First Adventure feel it is a team effort with parents, families, and staff to raise a child and therefore everyone needs to agree on what is best for the child. Families are provided with a Parent Handbook during their orientation which outlines that First Adventure feels a child should be treated with respect and given every opportunity to succeed. All First Adventure Programs support the inclusion of all children including those with special needs and children at risk. The parent handbook outlines the expectations of the centres and answers many questions families may have regarding the type of care that we provide. The families are then given a tour of the centre and shown where their child's classroom will be. The families are taken through the indoor and outdoor activity areas and given an outline of the daily programming routine specific to their child's class. Parents are also provided with a lunch menu so they can see the nutritional foods that are provided to their child as part of the snack and lunch regime.
